LOVING YOUR LIFE

Loving Your Life  |  by Corine Pevny

There is a simple formula for feeling good in life.  It consists of three things.  First, NOURISH your body.  Eat more plant-based foods and less animal-based, refined, or processed foods.   Drink a daily glass of green juice.  Exercise and move your glorious body.  Second, spend more time MEDITATING.  Spend time in the void, in the space between the noise, the quiet spot where Divinity resides.  Third, LOVE like you mean it.  Practice kindness and compassion towards yourself and others, then repeat it.  Share with the world how great it feels to be love, to feel love, and to love your life.

Writer Kris Carr shared this experience:

"A few months ago, I decided to take my joy for a ride, publicly. I wanted to let my smiley freak flag fly, regardless of the discomfort I felt OR created in others. It started with this tweet: "I am totally in love with my life." What a juicy affirmation! But once I pressed send, I slipped into old habits and started to sweat and pace. My ego immediately called me out and criticized me for being “cheesy”. Well, guess what happened? The twitter-sphere lit up. I could feel the collective and holy high-fives."

If declaring your love out loud could create such a difference, imagine what meaning it on the inside could do for you. Give yourself permission to fall in love with your life, no matter what’s missing or what you wish was different. It’s your life, like it or not. So you might as well find and embrace the inner joy that patiently waits to be recognized.

LET GO OF THE PAST

Let Go of the Past  |  by Corine Pevny
“We keep ourselves so tied up in regretting the past and fearing the future that we don’t have any energy left to figure out who we are and what we want to create right now.” ~ Gay Hendricks

How many of you have heard the phrase "bury the hatchet?"  What does that mean to you?  How many of you have 'buried the hatchet' at certain times in your life, just to dig it up again?  That's an interesting thought, isn't it?

Think about a painful part of your past.  Picture it in your mind.  Picture the people involved in it...people who have hurt you, caused you pain, embarrassment, or sadness.  How do you feel inside when you think about that memory?  Do you feel emotional?  Are there feelings of anger or resentment?  Or do you simply feel neutral?  If the feelings you have are anything but neutral, then you are stuck in the past, and that weakens you.  How many of you think that you've forgiven someone, only to see them again and those old 'feelings' come up...the tightness in your chest or the old heartache?

There is nothing you can do to change the past.  It's already happened.  Thinking about it, dwelling on it, hashing it over, or complaining about it will not change it.  However, it can change you.  If your thought processes are creating guilt, pride, resentment, anger, regret or self-pity, then you are not only reinforcing a false sense of self, but also helping to accelerate your body's aging process by creating an accumulation of past in your psyche.

Here are some questions you can ask yourself to see if your are 'stuck' in the past:

1.  Does the past take up a great deal of my attention?
2.  Do I frequently talk and think about it, either positively or negatively?  (The great things that I have achieved, my adventures or experiences; or my victim story and the dreadful things that were done to me, or maybe things I did to someone else.)

Living in the present moment requires work!  It requires an awareness of your thoughts, and acting on them.  If they are negative, let them go.  Replace them with a positive thought.  This will take practice, but it will also change your life!

You don't need the past.  Feel the power of this moment and the fullness of Being.  Feel your presence!

STILLNESS IS DIVINE: A Beginners Meditation Guide

10:55 AM Edit This 0 Comments »
Stillness is where all Creation begins; A still mind is a divine mind.
In order to create that which is truly of God, our minds need to learn to be still.  It's the divinity within us that allows us to create.

In the book of Psalms, in the Old Testament, there are 8 scriptures that talk about meditation. My favorite one, Psalms 46:10 says, "Be still and know that I am God..."  In 1st Timothy 4:15, in the New Testament, Paul is talking about many deep subjects and says, "Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all."  In D&C 76:19, it tells us wonderful blessings or gifts that can be received from meditation; "and while we meditated upon these things, the Lord touched the eyes of our understandings and they were opened, and the glory of the Lord shone round about."

The ultimate goal of meditation is to obtain stillness. Being still is the only way we can connect to God and come to know Him; and that is the only way we can truly come to know ourselves.

Blase' Pascal said "All man's miseries derive from not being able to sit quietly in a room alone."
How is your mind? Are you able to sit in stillness, or do you tend to continually bounce from one thought to another?

Meditation can be a very simple practice to begin. You can start by deep breathing. Use your intention to focus on breathing in the energies of calm and relaxation, and then exhaling the energies of stress or tension. Do this over and over again until your mind no longer wanders. If it does, don't worry. Simply bring it back and focus of your breath. Sometimes it may take many tries until you're able to train your mind to become still.

If you feel uncomfortable meditating on your own and need help getting started, there are many books available that can guide you through a meditation process. Or you can simply download an online meditation program. Depok Chopra has a great website with meditation programs for sale and also to try at no cost.

Apart from the spiritual benefits of meditation, the health benefits alone are worth starting a daily program. Research from the University of Wisconsin-Madison have shown meditation to have beneficial and lasting changes in the immune-system as well as electrical brain activity.

Start your practice today and experience the peace, tranquility, and increased health that comes from this simple, yet amazing practice.

Welcome!
